Server Status

The Server Status page provides an overview of the engine that executes BPEL processes. It contains the following items.

Item	Description
Date Started	Engine start date
Process Definitions	Number of business processes (.bpel files) currently stored in the database
Description	Engine configuration. This is the application server platform supported for this engine.
Status (or Cluster Status)	Statuses for the ActiveVOS Server engine are Running and Stopped. Additional database messages are included. Select Storage to see more detailed information regarding the database.
Monitoring Level (or Cluster Monitoring Level)	Level indicates a monitoring severity; that is, whether a warning or error is detected. If there is no monitoring set up, or if the engine is running normally, the level is Normal. Levels include Normal, Warning, and Error.
Version	Server version number
Identity and Email Services	Status indicates whether a service has been configured and enabled.To set up these common services, used especially in BPEL for People processes, see Identity Service and Email Service. The Identity service is required for BPEL for People.

Downloading and Uploading Server Configuration Information

You can download and upload an XML file containing information about server properties and settings. You may be asked to download the file for technical support. You may also want to upload a server configuration file to another server for a convenient way to populate server properties on more than one machine.

The properties and settings specified in the file include the following sections:

URN Mappings. For details, see URN Mappings.
Schedules, including Database Purge Schedule and Scheduled Processes
Configured Services, such as Alert Service and Messaging Service
Server Properties and system information, such as engine status, server log level and process idle timeout

Stopping and Starting the Server

ActiveVOS Server for Apache Tomcat. The server engine starts when you start Tomcat and stops when you shut down Tomcat. Select Stop Server to stop the engine from accepting new requests and to save currently running processes. Select Start Server to change the engine status to Running.
ActiveVOS Server. The engine starts when you start your application server. The engine stops when you shut down the application server. Select Stop Server to stop accepting new requests and to save currently running processes. Select Start Server to change status to Running.

License Warning

The License Warning field displays messages to help you stay in compliance with your ActiveVOS license agreements. ActiveVOS can verify that the number of installed licenses matches the configuration of your server cluster.

To check license/CPU compliance in ActiveVOS Server for Apache Tomcat:

Select the Admin menu and under License, select CPU Count.
Type in the number of CPUs on the server where ActiveVOS is installed, and select Update.
Select the Home menu. If the number of CPUs on the server exceeds the number of licenses installed, a warning is displayed.
