ActiveVOS Designer User’s Guide
Use the Process Editor tool palette to select and drag items to the canvas. The palette is organized into groups of objects, including:
Links and selections |
Use a link to connect two activities to make them run in sequence. Use the other selection tools to select a set of items on the canvas. |
Activity |
Select from the basic process activities to build a process. For example, select an invoke to represent a Web Service endpoint. |
Event |
(BPMN only.) Select an activity that triggers an event, such as a receive, to start a process. |
Control Flow |
(BPMN only.) Select a container or gateway to structure a group of activities. |
Handlers |
(BPMN only.) Select a fault or event handler for a scope. |
Container |
(ActiveVOS Classic only.) Select a container to structure a group of activities. For example, a flow is a container in which to add one or more activities to execute at the same time. |
Other |
(ActiveVOS Classic only.) Select a special container. For example, select a catch all for a fault handler, or an if condition for an if activity. |
Drawing |
Add labels and shapes to the canvas. They are ignored in the XML code, but they print. You can anchor a label to an activity. To copy a BPEL file to a new location, see Preserving BPEL Layout With VBPEL Files. |
Custom |
Save any activity or set of activities from a BPEL drawing as a custom activity. You can reuse the custom activity in other BPEL drawings. By default, the custom palette is hidden when empty. For details, see Creating a Custom Activity. |
You can customize the palettes in many ways. For example, you can view small icons, as shown in the BPMN palette or icons only, as shown in the ActiveVOS Classic example. To view icons only, right-mouse click on any palette entry and select Layout>Icons Only. See the list of other tips below the illustrations.
