ActiveVOS Designer User’s Guide
ActiveVOS Classic style uses the same palette of icons that has been in use since Version 1.0 of ActiveVOS Designer. Each BPEL construct, as specified in the WS-BPEL 2.0 specification, is represented by an icon designed by Active Endpoints. Because the BPEL specification does not include any requirements for graphical representation, each vendor, like Active Endpoints, who implements the specification creates their own look and feel.
In addition to representing BPEL constructs, ActiveVOS Classic, like the BPMN style, includes icons for the people activity, which is a BPEL for People extension. In addition, each style includes two ActiveVOS extension activities, break and continue.
In ActiveVOS Classic, the palette drawers are named as they have been since Version 1.0; namely, Activity, Container, and Other, whereas in BPMN style, the palette drawer names more closely resemble BPMN constructs; namely Activity, Event, Control Flow, and Handlers.
