Exporting a BPEL file to XPDL

To share your BPEL process with others who may not have access to ActiveVOS or another BPEL editor, you can export your file to the XML Process Description (XPDL) format.

XPDL is a format standardized by the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC) to interchange business process definitions between different workflow products. It enables the exchange of a process definition, both the graphics and the semantics of a workflow business process. Many tools use XPDL for storing process models.

To export a BPEL file:

1. Select File>Export>Orchestration>Export to XPDL.
2. In the Export to XPDL dialog, browse to select a BPEL file in a workspace project.
3. Browse to a file system folder for the file destination and provide a file name.
4. Select OK.
