ActiveVOS Designer User’s Guide

Adding Engine Configuration Details

If desired, you can deploy an XML file to the ActiveVOS server that contains business event configuration details. Using a configuration file allows you to simplify writing statements and patterns. It also allows for a group of developers to share the same configuration.

For example, you can create a configuration file for the following purposes:

ActiveVOS Server contains a default configuration file that the event manager uses. When you create and deploy a configuration file, it is merged with the default file.

To get started on creating your own configuration file, do the following:

  1. In ActiveVOS Server, open the Catalog page.
  2. Select All from the navigation pane.
  3. In the Selection Filter, remove the check mark from Hide System.
  4. Search for *.XML files.

You can view the default configuration file, named default.esper.config.xml.

There is also a user-defined configuration file that shows an example of how to create your own configuration file. It is aeb4p-task-config.xml.

For a full discussion of configuration parameters, see Active Endpoints Esper Reference.
