Preface
This Guide describes the concepts important for understanding
deployed and active Business Process Execution Language (BPEL) processes
that run on your application server.
ActiveVOS Server includes server components as well as a copy
of ActiveVOS Designer. ActiveVOS Designer is a tool to create, simulate,
and deploy BPEL processes.
We highly recommend that you use ActiveVOS Designer to deploy
BPEL processes to the server. ActiveVOS Designer automates much
of the BPEL process creation, and it automates the entire deployment
process. Optionally, you can hand-code the required files.
This Guide describes how to deploy processes using ActiveVOS
Designer, as well as describing the purpose and contents of the
required files.

This guide resides in the \Docs folder of your ActiveVOS Designer
installation folder. It describes how to use ActiveVOS Designer
to create or import, simulate, and deploy BPEL processes. The Designer
User’s Guide is also available in html format as online help in ActiveVOS
Designer.
- ActiveVOS Server Installation, Configuration,
and Deployment Guide. This guide provides online details
of installing, configuring, and deploying ActiveVOS Server to your
application server, as you execute the Config and Deploy utility.
- ActiveVOS Server Administration Console Help.
A .pdf copy of the online help for the server Administration Console
is available in the server\doc folder. The help describes the tasks
you can perform to deploy and manage BPEL processes and to configure
the ActiveVOS engine.
- Release Notes. Release Notes are
available in the \doc folder of each product.
- ActiveVOS Inbox Help. This guide
describes how to use the standard Inbox application that accompanies
the ActiveVOS Server product.
